The official Steam app
Escape from Playtime's official Steam listing uses app ID 2087540. It names Mob Entertainment as both the developer and the publisher. Checking those two details is the quickest way to confirm you are on the real page. Similar titles exist, so the app ID matters.
The official game FAQ confirms Steam as the planned launch platform. It also says the launch is planned for Steam only, with other platforms possibly explored later. That makes the Steam listing the single official storefront for now. No other store page was verified for this game.
Do not confuse the main product with similarly named Roblox experiences or with Project: Playtime, which is a different game. Those may appear in search results for similar terms. Only app 2087540 is Escape from Playtime. If a page does not match it, treat it with caution.
Release status and wishlisting
On October 18, the Steam page said the game was not yet available. It listed a planned Early Access release date of October 21, 2026. Mob Entertainment's September 20 announcement and the official release date trailer give the same date. The 360 cinematic trailer published on October 1 repeats it.
Until launch, the main action on the store page is to add the game to your wishlist. That is how Steam notifies you when a game becomes available. The official trailer descriptions also point viewers to the wishlist. No purchase button was available at the time of checking.
Once Early Access begins, the same page should show the price and a purchase option. Check it on launch day for the final status. The developer's Steam news posts will also announce the release. Those are linked from the store page.
Windows system requirements
The supported operating systems listed on Steam are 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11. The official FAQ also names Windows 10 and 11 as supported systems. Neither source confirms native macOS or Linux play. Mac and Linux players should not assume support.
The minimum processor listed is an Intel Core i3-9100 or an AMD Ryzen 5 3500. The minimum memory is 8 GB of RAM. The minimum graphics card is a GTX 1650 or an RX 470, and DirectX 12 is required. These are the published minimums, not a guarantee of smooth performance on every setup.
No verified storage figure appeared in the requirement block reviewed for this page. We will not guess a download size. Check the store page again before launch, since requirements can be updated. Our download article covers installation status in more detail.
What the store says about the game
The current English description presents a co-op horror experience in an abandoned toy factory. You play as a Smiling Critter, collect resources and survive hostile toys using tools, hiding and alternate routes. It mentions proximity voice chat for coordinating with friends. It also describes procedurally generated environments that change each run.
The store's Early Access section plans eight Smiling Critters, one starter zone and a core enemy lineup at launch. It targets roughly one year in Early Access, depending on community input. It also says the developer intends to raise the price at version 1.0. No Early Access price amount was verified at our check.
The description mentions the Perm-A-Lounge computer, where players examine progress and rewards and uncover company secrets. That is part of how the story is delivered. Our lore article covers the confirmed story premise. The store page itself is the best summary of the game's pitch.
Player count on the store page
The current English Steam listing describes the game as playable by one to eight players. Older official marketing, including the original FAQ and reveal coverage, says one to four. The store wording is the most recent. Historical four-player copy should be read as older marketing.
The developer's October 8 feedback post explains part of the change. It says the game was tuned toward three to five players and that six-to-eight-player groups responded positively. It also describes the game as primarily multiplayer, with a solo option retained. Our co-op guide covers what that means in practice.
We will recheck the player count on the store page at launch. Store descriptions are often updated when plans change. If the number changes, this page will be updated with the date. The store page always takes priority over older copy.
Main release versus the playtest
The October 1–4 open beta was a temporary test, separate from the main Steam release. The pinned developer FAQ describes test access separately and says it expired at the end of the window. A beta code is not proof that you own app 2087540. Owning the game will require buying it once Early Access opens.
Beta participation required FirstLook enrollment with linked Steam and Discord accounts. That process does not apply to buying the game on Steam. Players who tested the beta will still need to purchase Early Access. Beta progress was not verified to carry over.
If someone offers a pre-release installer or key outside Steam, be careful. The research verified only the official listing. Our download article explains which sources are legitimate. The Steam page remains the official route.
Things the listing does not confirm
The reviewed Steam page did not confirm a Steam Deck compatibility status. It did not list a download size or a price either. No purchase button was available at the time of checking. We will not invent any of these details.
Controller support on PC would not mean a console version exists. The official FAQ does not announce a PS5, Xbox or mobile release. Our PS5 and mobile articles explain the platform situation. The October 21 date applies to Steam only.
When Early Access launches, we will recheck the listing for price, size and any compatibility badges. Each detail will be added with the date it was checked. If you notice a change before we do, our contact page explains how to report it. Store pages change often around launch.
